#2 MERCURY - AGUSTA M.V. 350 cc. GRAN PREMIO 3 CILINDRI (around 1973)

This is a rare example of a die-cast 1:24 scale motorbike made in the early seventies by the italian company Mercury. The model represents the motorbike driven by the 15 times World Champion Giacomo Agostini in 1965.

Last two pictures from marca.com (Jarama Vintage Festival, Madrid, 29 October 2011)
The model is almost fully built in metal and is decorated with beautiful decals, which make the model very close to the real bike. Detail level is very high, including speedometer, motor or exhaust pipes.

As a curiosity, we may note, that the same model is available by the Spanish company Guiloy, being almost indistinguishable from the Italian model: the mould is shared, but the decals at each side with the number 1 are slightly different and the front mudguard is not painted red in the Spanish version.

  1. Gracias, Ángel, por la foto y por dejar un comentario. Mañana habrá un artículo sobre unos antiguos modelos 1:43 (también italianos), creo que puede ser de tu agrado.
